2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Collaboration
Typically, a 10-3 Orioles loss wouldn’t make a Best Of issue.
But the lopsided score of an August game in San Diego allowed MASN broadcasters Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald to veer into a conversation about Padres mega-fan and Blink 182 frontman Tom DeLonge.
When McDonald bizarrely acknowledged that he wasn’t familiar with the band, Brown offered a perfect karaoke version of DeLonge’s nasal pitch from its 2004 hit “I Miss You.”
The interaction was a hit with fans AND the band itself, as the group acknowledged in an October interview with Zane Lowe that the impression was “so good.”
