Rutschman is one of the premier fastball hitters in baseball right now, hitting .418 with seven home runs and only 12 strikeouts against four seam fastballs. Garrett Crochet has been electric, but heavily relies on his four seam fastball. All eight home runs he’s allowed this year have been to righties and Adley Rutschman is killing lefty starters. He’s hitting .373 (25/67) with a 1.015 OPS and four home runs in only 72 plate appearances. With Crochet’s fastball reliance (52.3% of pitches) and Rutschman’s prowess against the fastball and lefties this year, this is great value.
