The Ravens will be getting the “Hard Knocks” treatment again this season, as the award-winning HBO show will take an in-depth look at the entire AFC North in 2024.
The HBO and NFL announced “Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North” will debut Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 9 p.m., using its signature, full-access coverage to document the final six weeks of the regular season plus any postseason action for the Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.
The HBO series had already announced previous “Hard Knocks” shows for this year featuring the New York Giants during the offseason and the Chicago Bears during training camp.
In announcing the AFC North show — the first “Hard Knocks” series featuring an entire division, NFL Films vice president and head of content Keith Cossrow said, “Last season, the AFC North became the first division ever to have all four teams finish with a winning record, making it the perfect place to launch this new approach to ‘Hard Knocks.’
“We thank the Bengals, Browns, Ravens and Steelers for the opportunity to showcase some of the greatest rivalries in football and present the intensity of a playoff chase from all four corners of this incredibly competitive division.”
The Ravens were involved in the launch of the “Hard Knocks” franchise; HBO made the team the subject of its premiere series during training camp in 2001. That series was memorable for, among other things, linebacker Tim Johnson imitating tight end Shannon Sharpe during the rookie talent show.
The series was a huge hit and has gone on to win 18 Emmy awards. This will be the Ravens’ first appearance on “Hard Knocks” since that 2001 debut.
“Hard Knocks: In Season with the AFC North” will premiere each Tuesday from Dec. 3 through the end of the regular season and will continue into the playoffs. Episodes also will be available to stream on Max.
