With the Orioles’ 5-3 win against the Yankees and the Twins’ 4-1 loss to the Marlins Sept. 24, Baltimore has officially clinched a playoff berth.

It’s the first time the Orioles have earned a trip to the postseason in back-to-back seasons since they did so in 1996 and 1997.

Dean Kremer allowed just three hits and one run in five innings to earn the win, while Anthony Santander, Ramón Urías and Colton Cowser all homered for the Orioles in the victory in the Bronx.

“We talked a few days ago about 28 guys every single night. I’m so proud of this group,” manager Brandon Hyde said as they began their celebration in the locker room after the game.

The Orioles also provided some special celebration supplies for Jackson Holliday, who doesn’t turn 21 until December.
