2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Book
Joe Unitas (St. Paul’s) has led an interesting life. He was a two-sport athlete, played football in the SEC, acted in major Hollywood movies and was able to call film icon Garry Marshall a friend.
Those stories are shared in the book “Unitas to Unitas: Life’s Lessons Passed Down from Father to Son,” released in November. But they’re shared through the perspective of how lessons learned from his slightly more famous father (Baltimore Colts icon Johnny Unitas) shaped his life.
Perhaps no story in the book is more memorable than the one of Johnny U breaking up a high school party Joe had lied his way into attending, a story the kids at that party have probably told to everyone they’ve ever met.
