2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best College Athletes: Ben Smith
Golfer Ben Smith played 22 competitive rounds as a senior for Mount St. Mary’s in 2023-24, highlighted by a series of big-time results in the spring.
First, he won the individual title at the Carpetbagger Classic at Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Md. Then, he finished second individually at the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational at Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa. And finally, he finished tied for second individually at the MAAC Championships at Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
If Smith ever volunteers to help out with your golf game, we highly suggest taking him up on the offer.
