2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best College Athletes: Elijah Williams
Morgan State football entered the 2024 season looking to take a step forward under third-year coach Damon Wilson following two four-win seasons. The Bears ended up finishing 6-6, their best mark since 2014.
It certainly helped to have 2024 MEAC Defensive Player of the Year Elijah Williams, who finished with 54 tackles and 11 sacks as part of a unit that finished third in the six-team MEAC in total and scoring defense in 2024.
He finished his career as the program’s all-time leader in sacks (31) and tackles for loss (51.5).
