2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best College Athletes: Nick DeMaio
Towson men’s lacrosse put together a 13-4 campaign in 2024, its first winning season since 2019 and its best since 2016. CAA Offensive Player of the Year Nick DeMaio was certainly a big reason for the Tigers’ success, scoring 32 goals and dishing out 50 assists.
His best work came in CAA tournament victories against Drexel and Delaware, when he totaled 3 goals and 11 assists to lead the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2019.
DeMaio’s 82 points in 2024 are tied for the third-highest single-season total in Towson history.
