2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

In September, Maryland basketball legend Greivis Vásquez returned to College Park for a screening of the film “All I Ever Wanted.”
The doc, made by fellow Venezuelan Carlos P. Beltran, is an extraordinary look into Vásquez’s attempts to remain in the NBA through a string of injuries. What makes “All I Ever Wanted” so compelling is that it follows Vásquez through a period of seven years, including multiple surgeries and medical opinions that took a serious toll on the Terps legend and his family.
There’s no traditional “happy ending” to the story — just very raw and very real lessons and emotions, perhaps fitting for an athlete as emotional as Vásquez.
