2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Fourth Quarter
Maryland men’s lacrosse had a frustrating-at-times 11-6 season, but the Terps showed how good they could be at one of the biggest moments of the season.
Maryland was down, 9-6, late in the third quarter of its NCAA Tournament quarterfinal game against Duke but scored eight of the final ten goals the rest of the way for a 14-11 victory. Braden Erksa, Jack Koras and Daniel Maltz all scored two goals in what was essentially a perfect fourth quarter.
The Terps beat Virginia in the semifinals before falling to Notre Dame in the title game.
