2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Rivalry Renewed
In June, Maryland and Duke women’s basketball announced a two-game series to renew the rivalry between former ACC foes.
The first contest was played in College Park in November, with the Terps coming away with an 85-80 victory against the Blue Devils, who entered the contest ranked No. 11 in the nation.
Kaylene Smikle (23 points), Shyanne Sellers (17), Bri McDaniel (15) and Christina Dalce (12) led the way for Maryland, which will play in Durham in 2026-27. The all-time series is now tied at 41.
