2024 marks PressBox’s eighth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Unified Response
In March, our community suffered an awful tragedy when the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed, killing six men who were working on the bridge at the time. Quick work from police and other public servants helped prevent the toll from being even worse and the community rallied to offer support to those most affected by the tragedy.
In April, the Orioles and Ravens came together to jointly announce a $10 million donation to the Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund. The fund was established to provide support to the impacted parties, including the first responders and their families, port workers and their families and small businesses.
