Here’s my March Madness Round of 64 long-shot strategy.
What’s more fun than rooting for a Cinderella underdog in March Madness? The low seeds that stand on business against a blue blood and captivate the nation for a moment? Those are what sports fans live for.
If you bet every single underdog moneyline in each of the last five tournaments, you would walk away with a profit. Let’s take that strategy and have some fun! That’s what betting is all about … having fun watching sports.
Personally, I’m not adding in 16 seeds that rarely cover, let alone win. If you want to, feel free to choose your own adventure.
I’ve selected the following teams to enter a Round Robin by 2’s, 3’s and 4’s:
High Point (+270)
Montana (+1100)
McNeese (+265)
Georgia (+220)
Wofford (+1400)
Yale (+260)
Drake (+215)
Nebraska Omaha (+1280)
UNC Wilmington (+890)
Lipscomb (+920)
Grand Canyon (+450)
Troy (+460)
Akron (+800)
Bryant (+1160)
Liberty (+230)
For clarification, a Round Robin will take a parlay and break it into smaller parts. For instance, there are 105 possible two-leg parlays within the 15 legs above. So taking a Round Robin “By 2’s” will place a wager on all 105 combinations. “By 4’s” will place a wager on all 1,365 combinations.
In your bet slip with each sportsbook, you should see the option for Round Robin below your picks or on a tab towards the top. Effectively, a Round Robin saves time and will return winnings for every smaller parlay that wins within. Partial returns are possible, so the “max returns” are only available if all legs hit.
This is a fun way to have skin on every lower seed and root for the little guy. Join me and let’s have some fun!
