Savannah Bananas Set To Make First Appearance At Camden Yards This Summer

In the more than 30 years that Oriole Park at Camden Yards has entertained fans, from Baltimore Orioles games to concerts, there’s nothing quite like what the ballpark will experience this summer.

For the first time, the Savannah Bananas are set to come to Camden Yards as part of their 2025 Banana Ball World Tour. They’re scheduled to play the Firefighters in Baltimore on Aug. 1 and 2.

“We’re so excited to welcome the Savannah Bananas to Baltimore this August and see their incredible energy take over our iconic Camden Yards,” Visit Baltimore president and CEO Al Hutchinson said.

Formerly part of the wood-bat college summer baseball Coastal Plain League, the Bananas have become a household name across the sports and pop culture landscape as an exhibition ballclub. Fans must enter lotteries for the chance to snatch up arguably the hottest ticket in sports.

Games feature everything from trick plays to a host of pregame, postgame and in-game promotions, popular dances and TikTok trends and a number of exciting rules to keep fans engaged. Games have two-hour time limits.

“Camden Yards is an iconic ballpark, and we’re fired up to bring the Bananas to Baltimore,” Bananas owner Jesse Cole said. “This stadium has seen some legendary moments — but nothing quite like Banana Ball.”

Fans will be treated to a pregame player party featuring players from both teams, special appearances from Cole, the Bananas Pep Band, which makes its way around the entire stadium during games, and the Bananas’ mascot, Split.

Attendees should plan to arrive early. Pregame festivities begin nearly five hours before first pitch and merchandise tents will be open several hours before that for those looking to purchase anything Bananas.

“We believe the iconic backdrop of ‘‘’the ballpark that forever changed baseball’ paired with the Savannah Bananas’ unique style of play will give fans an unforgettable experience,” the Orioles said in a statement. “We are excited to welcome this new audience to our ballpark.”

There’s also a chance to see the return of Orioles and Baltimore legends, as has been the case at many previous Bananas games at big league parks.

The Bananas recently brought back former Los Angeles Angels players Troy Glaus and John Lackey to play in their games at Angel Stadium.

“When the Bananas hit the road, they pack stadiums and bring out fans of all ages and … it’s clear people can’t wait to see them here,” Hutchinson said.

Baltimore has hosted its fair share of major sporting events, including World Series games, AFC title games, Army-Navy and more. This time, tens of thousands of Bananas fans will descend upon Baltimore, set to explore a city with a rich sports history and one that will be decked out in bright yellow.

“We’re looking forward to all the fun they’ll bring, from the dancing to the hilarious at-bat walk-ups,” Hutchinson said. “We hope their fans take time to enjoy our attractions, restaurants, hotels and small locally-owned businesses while they are in town.”
