Joe Serpico shares his top fantasy football waiver-wire pickups heading into Week 6.

Michael Carter, RB, Arizona Cardinals: Carter hinted on social media that he would be the lead back and he delivered. He had 23 touches for 73 yards and a score against the Titans, while Emari Demercado literally dropped his opportunity for a touchdown. Carter looks to be the back to own while Trey Benson is out of action.

Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints: Is there a changing of the guard in NOLA? Miller rushed 10 times for 41 yards, compared to Alvin Kamara’s 8 for 27. Kamara has been the subject to trade rumors as the Saints rebuild, so get ahead of that and add Miller now.

Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins, RBs, Los Angeles Chargers: Omarion Hampton was seen in a walking boot after the Week 5 loss to the Commanders, and with Najee Harris already out for the season, Vidal and Haskins are the next in line. Both received carries once Hampton went down, so this could be a committee until one player gets hot. Haskins is listed next on the depth chart, so he is the one I will be targeting first in waivers.

Kendrick Bourne, WR, San Francisco 49ers: The Niners relied on an old face to step up for an injury-riddled receiving group. Bourne had 10 receptions for 142 yards against the Rams, as the connection with Mac Jones was evident all night. Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings could be back this week, so temper your expectations. Still, Bourne is a FLEX option as bye weeks hit.

Darren Waller, TE, Miami Dolphins: Waller is a priority addition for all teams as the tight end position continues to be the most volatile. He nearly doubled his playing time in Week 5 while scoring his third touchdown in two games. The Dolphins desperately needed another receiving option with Tyreek Hill out for the season and Waller has stepped up. You can’t expect him to score each week, but there are few tight ends you can trust right now.
