Towson men’s basketball star Tyler Tejada recently chatted with PressBox about his favorite sports star as a kid, his favorite CAA road trip and more. The 6-foot-9, 230-pound wing is averaging 18.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game through nine contests this season. Tejada is a native of Teaneck, N.J., and graduate of Teaneck High School.

PressBox: Who was your favorite sports star when you were a kid?
Tyler Tejada: Carmelo Anthony

PB: If you weren’t a basketball player, what would you be?
TT: I’d be a baseball player. I played baseball growing up before I played basketball. I was a pitcher, catcher, shortstop and outfielder. Considering that I grew, I’d probably stick with pitching. I think I got into the 80s before I stopped playing when I was like 12 or 13.

PB: What is your favorite “guilty” food?
TT: McDonald’s — probably nuggets, fries and a vanilla milkshake.

PB: What’s your favorite place to eat in Towson?
TT: Pasta Mista

PB: What’s your go-to karaoke song?
TT: Probably something by Katy Perry.

PB: Is there an exercise you hate doing?
TT: Cleans

PB: What’s your favorite CAA road trip?
TT: Charleston

PB: What is a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
TT: Aruba

PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
TT: Denzel Washington. My favorite one is probably “2 Guns” with Mark Wahlberg.

PB: What TV show have you been watching lately?
TT: I’ve been watching a lot of “Fairly OddParents.
