2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best College Athletes: Erick Hunter
Talk about not missing a beat. Morgan State linebacker Erick Hunter played in just two games in 2024 due to a shoulder injury after racking up 152 tackles in 21 games the previous two seasons.
In 2025, he bounced back to the tune of 102 tackles (14 for loss), four sacks, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one interception en route to first-team All-MEAC honors. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound linebacker had four games with double-digit tackles.
