Best College Athletes: Hannah Howard
UMBC volleyball had a roller-coaster season, starting 1-8 before rallying to win its fifth America East championship in six years.
Conference Defensive Player of the Year Hannah Howard was a steadying force throughout the campaign, leading the America East in total digs (457) and digs per set (4.52) and adding 120 assists.
The 5-foot-7 junior libero was at her best in America East tournament victories against Binghamton and UAlbany, totaling 59 digs to earn tournament Most Outstanding Player honors.
