2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Delayed But Not Denied
The Stevenson field hockey, women’s volleyball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams reached their respective MAC Commonwealth championship games in the fall, marking the first time four Stevenson teams have done that in the same season.
We’ll focus on Mustangs field hockey, though, after the squad went 19-3 overall and beat Messiah for the first time in 16 tries … with the latter just so happening to come in the MAC Commonwealth title game in November.
Senior Hailey Mertz scored the lone goal in the Mustangs’ 1-0 victory, while junior Jordan Vradenburgh made eight saves.
