In the lead up to March’s NFL Scouting Combine, Baltimore native and Tennessee wide receiver Dont’e Thornton (Mount Saint Joseph) was routinely posting 4.4 times as he practiced the 40-yard dash.
But when it was time to perform in Indianapolis, Thornton posted a spectacular 4.30, tied for the third-fastest time of any player at the Combine, helping him work his way into being a fourth-round pick by the Raiders.
