2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best New Facility
Terps basketball fans have been hearing about the need for a basketball-only practice facility for … quite some time. Maryland had been one of the few power conference schools without such a facility until it opened the Barry P. Gossett Basketball Performance Center in September.
The new 45,000-square-foot facility includes a practice court for the men’s and women’s teams as well as spaces for strength and conditioning, treatment, film and more. We’re still not sure if 45,000 feet is enough room to properly convey all the accomplishments of Brenda Frese, though.
