2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best New Team
After the demise of the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League following the 2020 season, women’s lacrosse had no professional league playing with a team format. That changed in February as the PLL launched the Women’s Lacrosse League as part of its Championship Series event.
The Maryland Charm debuted with a roster of former local college and high school stars like Abby Bosco, Aurora Cordingley, Jillian Wilson, Alex Aust Hofman, Sydni Black, Grace Griffin, Megan Whittle, Lizzie Colson and Megan Douty.
In September, the WLL announced that there would be a full season in 2026.
