2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Recruiting Spree
In July, Terps football commit Zion Elee (Saint Frances) became the new No. 1 overall prospect in the 247 Sports Composite ranking, making him the first-ever No. 1 overall football prospect to be committed to Maryland.
In August, consensus top-10 recruit Jordyn Jackson committed to play for Brenda Frese in 2026, picking Maryland over a number of schools, including mighty South Carolina.
In November, five-star Montgomery County men’s basketball prospect Baba Oladotun (Blake) chose the Terps over the likes of Kentucky and Arkansas.
Just days later, Olympic gold medalist track and field phenom Quincy Wilson (Bullis) committed to Maryland as well.
