While Ravens fans dreamed of bigger names that ultimately weren’t traded, the team prioritized familiarity with the system at November’s trade deadline.
Dre’Mont Jones played for former Ravens defensive assistant Dennard Wilson in Tennessee and prior to that for former Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald in Seattle.
That experience helped him make a quick transition after being acquired for just a conditional fifth-round pick. He had multiple quarterback hits in each of his first three games, including 1.5 sacks and four pressures against the Jets in Week 12.
