2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

Entering the second game of a doubleheader against Towson in Hagerstown in February, Maryland Eastern Shore baseball had lost 55 games in a row dating back to May 2023.
It didn’t seem like the Hawks would snap the long losing streak when the Tigers put together a five-run first inning, but UMES bounced back to secure a 14-7 win.
First baseman Diego Aponte went 3-for-6 and drove in four runs, while third baseman Ryan Davis went 4-for-5 with a home run. Right-hander Hunter Allen and lefty Wilfredo Morales combined to record 25 of the 27 outs.
