2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Streak
One of the most unusual yet impressive streaks in baseball was extended in March when Orioles outfielder Tyler O’Neill hit a home run on Opening Day for a record sixth consecutive season. This year’s homer came against Blue Jays right-hander José Berríos, part of a 12-2 win in Toronto.
The rest of the season didn’t go the way O’Neill planned, but here’s hoping he can hit a home run against the Twins at Camden Yards to extend his streak to seven and get 2026 off on the right foot.
