2021 marks PressBox’s fifth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best New Champions
In its first five trips to the Division III College World Series, the Salisbury baseball team went a combined 3-10. Its sixth trip went much better.
The Sea Gulls were a perfect 5-0 in their trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They swept St. Thomas (Minnesota) in the championship series, winning 4-2 in the final game to clinch the first national title in program history.
It capped quite a successful spring on the Salisbury campus, as the women’s lacrosse program also claimed its fourth national championship.
