2021 marks PressBox’s fifth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

When USA Today reporter Mike Jones asked Lamar Jackson a question during a postgame news conference in January, no one could have known the weeklong nostalgia trip it would set off.
Jackson was reminded of popular rapper Mike Jones, best known for his 2005 smash hit “Back Then.” The next day, John Harbaugh acknowledged he had heard Jackson talking about the rapper and said he’d need to check him out.
Jones said in January that the Ravens’ public display of love was a “big wow” for him. Perhaps you could say that back then (before January), football teams didn’t want him. But when the Ravens were hot, they were all on him.
