It was a relatively quiet week on the injury front and the majority of this week’s fantasy superstars are already rostered, but there are still players available who can make an impact for your fantasy team moving forward.
Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears: Fields has thrown for more than 200 yards just once this year, but his ability as a runner is making him fantasy relevant. He’s finished as a top-five fantasy QB the last two weeks, and with six teams on a bye in Week 9 and a soft schedule the next couple weeks, Fields is a reliable starter.
D’Onta Foreman, RB, Carolina Panthers: You might be a little late to the party, but if Foreman is still available in your league, he’s a must-add. He’s rushed for 118 yards in back-to-back games, and he’s a force at the goal line, as evidenced by his three rushing touchdowns. Chuba Hubbard being inactive certainly helped the cause, but Foreman should get the majority of the carries moving forward.
Khalil Herbert, RB, Chicago Bears: The Bears are spreading the wealth on the ground, but Herbert looks to be the most explosive player and has a touchdown in consecutive games. He’s averaging an absurd 6.2 yards per carry and needs to be rostered in all leagues.
Alexander Mattison, RB, Minnesota Vikings: Mattison has been electric when given the opportunity to start, so it makes absolutely no sense that he’s rostered in less than 50 percent of leagues. Dalvin Cook is still the top dog in Minnesota, but Mattison becomes a top-15 option if Cook were to miss any time. If you’re a Cook owner, you need to add Mattison to your roster.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris’ owners need to stash the rookie. He’s coming off a career high in rushing and is the clear No. 2 in the Steelers’ backfield. Harris has been battling a foot injury all season, and if anything were to happen to him, it’s Warren’s job.
Allen Robinson, WR, Los Angeles Rams: He’s burned fantasy owners the last two seasons, but Cooper Kupp injured his ankle against the 49ers on Sunday. Robinson would see an increase in targets if the Rams’ all-world receiver misses time.
Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, Carolina Panthers: P.J. Walker has revived the Panthers passing attack, and with Robbie Anderson out of the picture, Marshall has been the biggest beneficiary. His nine targets against the Falcons on Sunday were a career high, as were his 87 receiving yards. DJ Moore is still the top receiving threat, but Marshall is serviceable if you’re in a pinch at the position.
Tyler Conklin, TE, New York Jets: He’s been featured in this piece in previous weeks and is still on the waiver wire in majority of leagues. He hauled in six of 10 targets for 79 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots on Sunday and has seen five or more targets in all but two games this season. The tight end position has been brutal this season, but Conklin is a good option if you need a bye-week fill-in.
