The Baltimore Orioles now know who they’ll face in the American League Division Series.
The Texas Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-1, on Oct. 4, to sweep the wild-card round and advance to the ALDS against Baltimore.
The ALDS begins Saturday, Oct. 7, and the Orioles will host Games 1, 2 and 5 (if necessary), with Games 3 and 4 (if necessary) in Texas.
With the Billy Joel-Stevie Nicks concert at M&T Bank Stadium scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, the game time for Game 1 has already been announced as 1 p.m.
Here’s what the schedule looks like:
Game 1: Saturday, Oct. 7 at Camden Yards, 1:03 p.m.
Game 2: Sunday, Oct. 8 at Camden Yards, 4:07 p.m.
Game 3: Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Globe Life Field, 8:03 p.m.
Game 4: Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Globe Life Field, 7:07 p.m. (if necessary)
Game 5: Friday, Oct. 13 at Camden Yards, 8:03 p.m. (if necessary)
The Orioles and Rangers met six times during the regular season, with the teams splitting the season series, 3-3.
The Orioles went 2-1 in Texas during the first week of the season from April 3-5, beating the Rangers 2-0 and 7-2 before dropping the series finale, 5-2.
The Rangers were in Baltimore from May 26-28, winning the first two games, 12-2 and 5-3, while the Orioles took the finale, 3-2.
The Rangers are led by Corey Seager, who was second in the AL with a .327 average this season, Adolis Garcia, who was second in the AL in home runs (39) and RBIs (107), and Marcus Semien, who led the AL with 185 hits.
The Rangers finished the regular season tied with the Houston Astros at 90-72, but the Astros won the AL West title by virtue of the head-to-head record tiebreaker.
