2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Taylor Calheira
When Anthony Adams took over as the head coach of the UMBC men’s soccer program in February, it was surely a relief to be able to lean on a senior like Taylor Calheira, who earned his second consecutive America East Striker of the Year award this fall.
Calheira scored 10 goals and dished out four assists in 16 games for the Retrievers, who put together a 7-4-5 season. If Adams can recruit more players like Calheira, the coach will find plenty of success.
