2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Breakthrough Win
Baltimore’s Gervonta Davis recorded the biggest win (yet) of his pro career in April, defeating popular fighter Ryan Garcia in a 136-pound catchweight megafight in Las Vegas.
Davis declared himself “the face of boxing” after flooring Garcia with a seventh-round body shot that caught his opponent square in his liver.
The fighter known as “Tank” certainly had an argument for the claim, as the fight brought in 1.2 million buys on Pay-Per-View.
