2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

At first glance, Adley Rutschman‘s 2023 Home Run Derby performance might not seem like anything to write home about, considering he was beaten out by Luis Robert Jr. in the first round despite 27 home runs.
But he dazzled all those watching by hitting 21 home runs as a left-handed batter and then six more as a right-handed batter in bonus time … all with his father, Randy, throwing to him.
“I think if Adley was so gung-ho on winning the thing he probably could’ve picked a hundred other people, but I think he was more like, ‘Regardless of how this goes, it’s going to be Dad and I,'” Randy told PressBox in July.
