2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

Johns Hopkins football was hoping for a walk-off win when it lined up for a game-winning field goal against Muhlenberg in October.
The field goal never got far off the ground and somehow ended up in the hands of tight end Will Leger, who could advance the ball because it never crossed the line of scrimmage. Leger ran 14 yards for the game-winning score, the wildest moment of Hopkins’ 12-1 season.
He credited his situational awareness to the Jays’ preparation ahead of the season. “I guess I just really paid attention during that practice,” Leger told PressBox in October.
