2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

Aaron Hicks hit .232/.337/.398 in eight years with the Yankees and Ryan O’Hearn hit .219/.293/.390 in five years with the Royals, but both were key pieces for the 2023 Orioles.
After being released by the Yankees in May, Hicks signed with Baltimore to fill in for an injured Cedric Mullins. He became a fixture in the lineup, posting a .381 on-base percentage.
O’Hearn turned a spring training invite into a middle-of-the-order role against right-handed pitching, slugging .480 and mashing 37 extra-base hits.
