2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Recovery
The first NCAA Tournament game of the Kevin Willard era didn’t start particularly well for Maryland men’s basketball, which fell behind, 16-4, less than nine minutes into its game against West Virginia.
However, the Terps outscored the Mountaineers, 63-49, for the remainder of the contest. Maryland’s 67-65 win was highlighted by Julian Reese’s transition dunk over Patrick Suemnick that came courtesy of a deft feed from Jahmir Young.
The Terps lost to Alabama two days later, but the season was undoubtedly a success.
