2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Bounce-Back Season
From 2019-2022, Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse went 21-30 overall — hardly up to the standard that had been set in Baltimore in the decades prior.
In 2023, the Blue Jays bounced back with a 12-6 season and their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
Graduate defenseman Alex Mazzone and junior attackman Russell Melendez earned first-team All-Big Ten honors, while graduate attackman Garrett Degnon and junior defenseman Scott Smith earned second-team honors.
