Orioles outfield prospect Hudson Haskin chatted with PressBox about his favorite minor league road trip, his favorite spot to eat in Maryland and more. Haskin, 23, is hitting .265/.343/.470 with 25 extra-base hits on the season for Double-A Bowie entering play July 6.
PressBox: What is your favorite guilty food?
Hudson Haskin: Pancakes
PB: What is your favorite pregame meal or snack?
HH: Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
PB: What is a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
HH: Italy
PB: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
HH: Brett Gardner
PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
HH: Probably Kevin Costner in “Bull Durham”
PB: What is your favorite minor league road trip?
HH: Probably Brooklyn. That was close to home for me, so I was able to see some friends and family and explore New York City a little bit.
PB: What is your favorite spot to eat in Maryland?
HH: When I was with Delmarva, there was a place called Kellyn’s Kafe [in Salisbury]. I used to go there every day for breakfast, just really good people there.
PB: Do you have a favorite book?
HH: I do read a lot. I would say my favorite book is probably “The Four Agreements” [by] Don Miguel Ruiz. That’s given me some principles to try to live by.
PB: What TV show have you been binging lately?
HH: “Ozark”
PB: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
HH: Be yourself. You’re your own best coach.
