Orioles prospect Connor Norby chats with PressBox about his bucket-list place to visit, his favorite spot to eat in Maryland and more. Norby, selected in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft out of East Carolina by the Orioles, is now with Double-A Bowie. He is hitting .273/.377/.510 with eight home runs for the Baysox entering play Aug. 16. He is playing second base and left field.

PressBox: What is your favorite guilty food?
Connor Norby: Probably Cook Out — the chicken quesadillas or the chicken ranch wrap.

PB: What is a bucket-list place you’ve never been?
CN: Miami

PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
CN: Batman [in] “The Dark Knight Rises”

PB: Who was your favorite sports star growing up?
CN: Torii Hunter

PB: What is your go-to karaoke song?
CN: Probably anything Katy Perry. That seems to get the guys fired up.

PB: What has been your favorite road city so far in the minor leagues?
CN: It was Greensboro, because I live there.

PB: What was your favorite campus to visit when you played at East Carolina?
CN: Wichita State was pretty cool. I liked going there.

PB: What is your favorite spot to eat so far in Maryland?
CN: Jimmy’s Famous Seafood

PB: And what’s your favorite thing to order there?
CN: The seafood combination or the seafood pasta.

PB: What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever gotten?
CN: Probably it doesn’t matter how good you are — if the work you put in doesn’t match how talented you are, you’re only going to get so far.
