2022 marks PressBox’s sixth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best High School Male Athlete
The Mount Saint Joseph basketball team finished the 2021-22 season 32-7 overall and took home the MIAA A Conference and Baltimore Catholic League tournament titles, beating Mount Carmel and St. Frances in the championship games … meaning it was just another season for Gaels head coach Pat Clatchey. Helping lead the way for Clatchey was forward Amani Hansberry, who averaged 20.3 points, 13.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game on the season and pulled down 22 rebounds in the BCL title game. He will head to Illinois after graduating from Mount Saint Joseph in the spring.
