2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Ethan Pecko
Success rarely comes without adversity in baseball, and Towson’s Ethan Pecko is no exception.
He missed the 2021 season at La Salle University while recovering from Tommy John surgery … and then had to find another home because the school was dropping baseball.
Pecko transferred to Towson, where he only pitched 59.2 innings across two seasons but still showed enough to be taken in the sixth round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Houston Astros.
He was the first Tiger to be drafted since 2018 and first pitcher since 2011.
