2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Dunk
Maryland men’s basketball did not lure DeMatha graduate Hunter Dickinson to College Park in the offseason, but at least the Terps beat Dickinson once before he headed to Kansas.
Maryland had lost five consecutive games against Michigan — all featuring Dickinson — prior to the Terps’ 64-58 win against the Wolverines in January. The victory featured a big-time dunk by Caelum Swanton-Rodger on Dickinson, who had previously made no secret his belief that the Terps should’ve recruited him harder in high school.
It brought the house down.
