2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.

Archbishop Spalding football has gone 21-3 with two MIAA A Conference championships the past two seasons behind quarterback Malik Washington, who threw for 2,288 yards and 27 touchdowns as a junior during the Cavaliers’ 10-2 season in 2023.
He’ll try to lead a three-peat next fall before heading to college.
“I just try and remember it can be taken away at any moment,” Washington told PressBox before the 2023 season. “Staying humble is part of being a good person. If you are arrogant and stuff like that, it never really ends well for anybody.”
