2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Homecoming
Orioles fans were perplexed about the relationship between the team and former superstar center fielder Adam Jones in 2022 when he expressed his disappointment about having not heard from the club regarding its 30th anniversary celebration of Camden Yards.
Whatever disconnect existed, it was fixed in a big way in 2023.
Jones first returned in July to play the role of “Captain Splash” (with some extra exuberance) and then formally retired as an Oriole with an emotional pregame scene in September.
