It’s hard to even remember that in March, Lamar Jackson had made it public that he had requested a trade from the Baltimore Ravens. As bleak as the outlook was in that moment, it would change dramatically in the ensuing weeks.
In early April, the Ravens surprised everyone and agreed to a one-year, $18 million deal with three-time Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. That was believed to be the turning point in negotiations with Jackson, who would end his ongoing contract saga by signing a five-year, $260 million pact later in the month.
