2023 marks PressBox’s seventh annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Veteran Move
The 2023 season certainly didn’t start the way Ryan McKenna anticipated.
The Orioles were up, 8-7, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth at Fenway Park and looking to improve to 2-0. However, McKenna dropped a pop fly to extend the game. Adam Duvall then hit a two-run homer off of Félix Bautista for a gut-punch of a 9-8 loss.
McKenna revealed to PressBox in June that veteran catcher James McCann turned on “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley and The Wailers in the clubhouse after the game. Everything’s going to be all right, indeed.
