Joe Serpico shares his top fantasy football waiver-wire pickups heading into Week 11.
Jacoby Brissett, QB, Arizona Cardinals: I had to do a double take when I noticed it, but Brissett has now finished as a top-12 fantasy quarterback in four straight games. He has thrown two touchdowns in all four games and has given the entire Cardinals offense life since taking over as the starter. Kyler Murray may have played his last game in Arizona, and Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. fantasy owners are happy about that.
Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts: The talk in Indy is all about Jonathan Taylor, and deservingly so. Pierce continues to be a big-play threat as well, reeling in a 37-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He also had seven targets, while Michael Pittman and Josh Downs had two each. The Colts’ schedule is difficult the rest of season, but anyone averaging almost nine targets per game needs to be rostered.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: Washington is another carryover from last week who continues to be widely available in fantasy leagues. He has garnered 10, 9 and 7 receptions the past three weeks. He caught just three passes against the Texans on Sunday, but he did find the end zone, and the upcoming schedule is enticing. Brian Thomas Jr. missed the game in Houston and Jakobi Meyers is still learning the offense, so Washington’s time as the lead receiver could be short-lived.
Tez Johnson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: He is not getting extended looks but is taking advantage of the opportunities that come his way. Johnson has found the end zone in three of his last four games as the No. 2 receiver behind Emeka Egbuka. The downside is his season-high in yards is 59. Baker Mayfield is looking his way in the red zone, which makes him a very touchdown-dependent player.
Theo Johnson, TE, New York Giants: Johnson has finished as TE13 or better in five of the last seven games and yet is still widely available in fantasy leagues. He caught seven receptions for 75 yards against the Bears on Sunday, both season highs, and is heavily targeted in the red zone. There aren’t many tight ends who are putting up consistent numbers, so it shocks me to see that Johnson is available in more than 50 percent of leagues.
