2025 marks PressBox’s ninth annual Best Of edition celebrating the top people, performances and moments of the year.
Best Twin Debuts
Orioles fans spent much of the 2025 season wondering when top prospects Dylan Beavers and Samuel Basallo would debut in the major leagues.
They ended up debuting on back-to-back days in Houston in August, with Beavers getting the call just before Basallo.
Both had hits in their debuts, but the most memorable moment had to have been Astros right fielder Jesús Sánchez robbing Basallo of a home run. Basallo’s first homer came in San Francisco later in the month.
