Towson redshirt junior Matt Nilan recently chatted with PressBox about his favorite movie of all time, his go-to karaoke song and more. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound goalie is posting a .528 save percentage and 10.83 goals-against average for the Tigers in 2026. Nilan is a native of Bayport, N.Y., and graduate of Bayport-Blue Point High School.

PressBox: Who was your favorite sports star as a kid?
Matt Nilan: Philip Rivers

PB: What is your favorite movie of all time?
MN: “Django Unchained”

PB: What TV show have you been binging recently?
MN: I watched “Band of Brothers” very recently on HBO Max.

PB: If you could trade places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
MN: I would have to trade places with Frank Reynolds in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Experiencing that group of friends would be quite a ride.

PB: Do you have a hidden talent?
MN: I would say freestyle rapping.

PB: Who is your favorite rapper?
MN: Eminem

PB: What is your go-to karaoke song?
MN: “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker

PB: What is your favorite “guilty” food?
MN: My favorite guilty food has to be Buffalo chicken pizza. I’m from Long Island, so I have a few local spots on Long Island that I love, but I can’t lie — I also love a good Domino’s pizza.

PB: Do you have any pets?
MN: I have a Boxer dog at home with my parents back on Long Island, but none here in Towson.

PB: What is your favorite CAA road trip?
MN: Favorite CAA road trip has to be Hampton.
