Joe Serpico shares his top fantasy football waiver-wire pickups heading into Week 4.
Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals: A season-ending injury to James Conner puts Benson in line to be the lead back for the Cardinals. Benson was drafted for this particular reason, as Conner has a history of injuries. He is the must-add player for this week and you should go heavy on your FAAB to get him. He was already eating into Conner’s touches and is arguably the best waiver pickup we might have this year.
Ollie Gordon II, RB, Miami Dolphins: De’Von Achane is the key cog to Miami’s offense, but it was Gordon who found the end zone on Thursday night. The Dolphins have supported two fantasy-relevant running backs in the past. I am not ready to place him in starting lineups, but he should be owned by anyone with Achane on their roster.
Tre Tucker, WR, Las Vegas Raiders: It is hard to ignore when a player scores three touchdowns. Tucker caught 8 of 9 targets for 145 yards and three scores to lead all players this week. He also saw eight targets last week. I am adding him to my roster, but I’m not ready to start just yet. Do not forget that bye weeks become a factor in Week 5.
Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots: It is another brutal season for tight ends. Henry is the latest to join the crowded list. He caught eight passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns this week after catching just one pass in Week 2. If you are looking for help at tight end, he’s an option. Just know that he is going to be a boom-or-bust player like most tight ends.
